GoI scholarship for minority students; Register by Nov 15

New Delhi: The Government of India (GOI) has invited online applications for scholarship schemes for the 2021-2022 academic year from eligible students belonging to minority communities is still in progress. According to the official notification, applicants have time until November 15th for the Pre-School Scholarship and November 30th for the Post-Secondary Scholarship.

The registration process for the Government of India Scholarship has commenced in September 2021. All eligible students are to register their applications at the Government of India’s National Scholarship Portal (NSP) on or before the last date to avoid the last minute rush.

Scholarship schemes for those pursuing education

  • Pre-School Scholarship from 1st to 10th grade.
  • Post-secondary scholarship is for students who are pursuing their higher education from grade 11 up to their Ph.D. degree in recognized public/private colleges including technical courses in ITI/ITC.
  • Merit cum means course-based scholarships included in undergraduate, postgraduate, technical and professional courses.

Income certificate issued by any competent authority is a mandatory requirement to apply to pre-school and post-university programs and merit means existing scholarship schemes.

Only online applications will be accepted under the three schemes and no applications will be accepted for offline applications.

Steps to Apply for a Minority Scholarship

To apply for the scholarship, you must follow the simple procedure given below:-

  • Visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal.
  • You have to register yourself on the official website of the National Scholarship Portal.
  • Click on the option labeled New Recording.
  • The registration form will be displayed on your screen.
  • Enter all the details.
  • You must enter all of your personal information and information related to your academic qualifications.
  • Download all documents.
  • Successfully, register yourself.
  • You can now log in with your credentials and apply for this scholarship.

Log in to the new app

  • Go to the National Scholarships Portal.
  • The home page will open.
  • Click on the Sign in option.
  • A new application form will open to login for the new application.
  • Enter the details such as the application ID and password.
  • Now click on the Sign in option.
  • Enter the details such as the application ID and password.
  • Now click on the Sign in option.

Steps for the Minority Scholarship Renewal Application Form

  • Open the official website of the NSP.
  • The NSP home page will open on the screen.
  • Click on the new registration option.
  • A new page will open.
  • Now you have to select the option to apply for renewal.
  • The login form will open for renewal.
  • Now click on the Sign in option.
  • Log in with details.
  • Now the renewal form will open.
  • Enter all the details and click on submit option.

Application deadline

  • The last date to apply for a new scholarship and to renew is November 15, 2021.
  • The deadline to apply for the Post-School Merit Program and Existing Scholarship schemes is November 30, 2021.
  • The deadline for the first level of verification (institute level) is December 15, 2021.
  • The deadline for verification of the second level (region/state level) is December 31, 2021.

  • Students must submit the completed application together with the required documents at the institution/school where they are studying for online application examination by the respective institution.
  • Hard copies of the application are not required to be submitted at county/state offices.
  • Students must scan and upload all required documents online.

For institutions / schools

  • Organizations without login credentials are advised to fill out a KYC registration form and have it approved by a District Officer (DN0) or State Contract Officer (SNO).
  • The option to apply for KYC is available under Services Section on the gate.
  • Demographic validation based on Aadhaar for the employees of the nodal organization has been made mandatory before applications can be checked by them for which the INO is required to provide their Aadhaar number on the NSP portal.

Since there is no modification option after the final submission of online applications, students must review the eligible criteria/FAQs on the web portal homepage and register their applications online.

Those students who received a scholarship from the Iraqi government last year under pre-school and post-secondary programs and merit means merit-based scholarship schemes must apply as a renewal by giving their application ID.
