Firstly, What is remedial?
- Remedial also known as pre-degree by some schools is a programme administered by a university to prepare candidates seeking admission into 100 level of any of her courses. The course is run for two semesters usually not lasting beyond 6 to 9 months of academic work.
What is unilorin remedial programme?
Unilorin Remedial Programme serves as a platform to equip prospective students for university admission. The Unilorin remedial is aimed at preparing students for admission into the courses of their choice. Admission into a chosen course of study at Unilorin through the remedial/Pre-degree is determined by the candidate’s good performance at the remedial program, the possession of an acceptable current JAMB score and possession of the required 5 O’ Level credits in subjects relevant to the chosen of course.
Who can apply for remedial programme?
Let’s use this year as example Candidates who plan on writing jamb this year and want to apply for the university of ilorin can do the remedial programme Candidates who sat for 2020 jamb and weren’t admitted can also do the programme instead of staying at home doing nothing
You can also say remedial is pre 100lvl
Because you’re being prepared for 100lvl by the school.
Advantages of remedial programme for unilorin
1. Unilorin considers their remedial aspirants first before other aspirants (provided you passed well)2. Remedial aspirants don’t write post utme 3. Doing remedial at unilorin will give you an insight of what will be learnt in 100lvl and since the programme is done in the school you will as well have the opportunity to see what the school looks like from day to day.
Just like Jamb, Unilorin also has requirements for different courses if you want to apply for remedial
