31-year-old Kristen Stewart may be a far cry from her days of playing teenage love for a vampire, but she still remembers the role of Bella Swan in twilight proudly. In an interview with Entertainment tonightStewart, Matt Cohen, said she was aware that the franchise was seeing a resurgence among young adults after it was added to the Netflix streaming library.
“I saw it was on Netflix, and I said, ‘Oh, it’s on Netflix,’ as if it was there while I was browsing,” she says. Dude, it’s weird because it looks incredibly far away and it’s still not that far from me and my time in that movie. I don’t know, on one hand, you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m old, my God, I did this five minutes ago, and now it’s like 10th Anniversary. “I’m like, wow, I have to go to my high school anniversary already.”
I continued, ‘It’s rad, I don’t know, I haven’t really… this hasn’t touched me yet. I can’t wait for a 12 or 15-year-old to suddenly think, like, like, like, you’re young and tell your parents how amazing Jimi Hendrix is or something Like that — not to say I’m even remotely comparing my life to Jimi Hendrix — but you know what I mean where they are, “Dude, you don’t even know, he’s like, so sick.” I do, I was into it.”
Stewart was honored at the Palm Springs International Film Awards for her role as the late Princess Diana Spencer. She told Cohen that playing Diana was very transformative.
“The most I could get from making this movie was probably how big and how small I felt,” she says. “I’ve never felt so big and small at the same time. And I don’t know, just to be aware that there are some touching influences, you know, touching the people out there and they kind of lightning in a bottle, one in a million special, but inside of them life may not sometimes be as everyone feels outside, you know what I mean ? You know, it’s as if this woman has been able to connect and connect with a lot of people and is responsible for a lot of good in the world, a kind of inexhaustible and incredible good, but at the same time it’s really good, you know, to fall in kind of waking up from her dreamy nature.”
Stewart added that she considered Diana “sort of an artist.”
“She was very good at touching those outside of her,” she said. “That’s a certain talent and connection and that’s what we’re doing and I think all of that was just a great thing.”
Although it promotes SpencerStewart also spends a lot of time planning a wedding with his fiancée, Dylan Mayer. The couple dated for two years before their engagement in November. Stewart keeps her plans for the event fairly straight.
“I don’t even know the details, I don’t know how many traditions we are going to follow,” she said. “But I know what I’m going to wear, and I can’t tell you. Like, the whole thing, we kind of have to do the surprise.”
