UNILORIN UPDATES ON VIRTUAL RESUMPTION, ADMISSION PROCESSING AND THE REVISED ACADEMIC CALENDAR

1. Training the trainers (lecturers) on virtual teaching happened on Monday, 4th January, 2021 in the University Auditorium
2. 2020/21 session is cancelled because the university won’t have time to conduct the session after completing 2019/20.
3. UNILORIN 2021/22 applicants admission method will be decided by the University Senate and the Admission Office
4. The government won’t provide data for students. The university plans to partner with GLO and maybe other service providers for cheaper data plans for students.
5. Microsoft Teams requires the use of UNILORIN student email for activation and the app will be used for virtual learning. For any issue regarding activation, contact helpdesk.comsit@unilorin.edu.ng
6. Pending first semester exams will be conducted via CBT while maintaining COVID-19 protocols on-campus and/or virtually. Individual lecturers will decide appropriate method
7. You can come on campus for use of campus Wi-Fi. Thought no interaction of any form. Social distancing must be adhered to
8. Teaching method for practical classes will be decided by individual lecturers. Maybe done virtually or suspended until physical resumption
9. The virtual classes maybe used until the end of 2019/20 and beyond even after physical resumption. Virtual classes will complement physical classes
10. Practicals for clinical students in the College of Health Sciences will be suspended until physical resumption. For others, virtual learning will be used.
11. 1st semester results will be uploaded soon for exams conducted already. Most lecturers finished marking already
12. On-campus hostels remain closed for now until the embargo on academic gathering is lifted by FG. Off-campus residents can stay in their hostels and come on-campus for use of Wi-Fi
13. Delay in release of NECO results is what is delaying 2020/21 admission processing. This is based on JAMB directives that NECO result must be used as part of 2020/21 admission
