College life gives us unforgettable memories. Apart from pursuing academic achievements, it is also time to learn the art of socializing and developing one’s personality.

Since its inception in 1998, Peninsula College has always made student employability a priority.

Whether it’s course content, class designs, recruitment or training, every aspect is geared toward giving graduates a head start in their careers.

Now, the college is focusing on providing a comprehensive university experience to its students at its brand new premises named The Ship Campus in Batu Kawan, Penang.

The ship’s campus is the culmination of the three essential elements of a productive college life: study, live and work.

The main campus building consists of student amenities. It is located near the comfortable student residence, while right next to it is the newest logistics center called The 12 Waves.

12 Waves is operated by the college’s parent company PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd, where students can do their internships or work part-time in the warehouse.

Work hard and play hard

With Malaysia’s leading logistics company as the parent company, the most popular courses at Peninsula College include Logistics Management, E-Business Technology and Business Studies.

With a strong focus on practical courses, this is also why the campus is located in an industrial area.

The college believes that bridging theory and practical application through internships early in higher education will boost graduates’ confidence as they step into the world of work. In addition, graduates with work experience will be more suitable among future employers.

However, some may ask: Is the industrial park a suitable place to live and study?

In Batu Kawan Industrial Park (BKIP), most of the factories here are light and medium industries, such as E&E manufacturing or just assembly.

Besides, the ship’s sanctuary faces the sea and is surrounded by mountains. With a bit of luck, one might even be able to witness a wonderful sunset!

Ship Campus is also equipped with many amenities for students to enjoy after classes without the hassles of traffic jams.

They can choose to sing in the KTV room, challenge their peers to a game of pool, and gather around the barbecue pit during the weekends.

For those who enjoy time alone, the café, library, and gym are ideal places to recharge.

home away from home

The best way to fully experience college life at Peninsula College is to stay in the Peninsula Student Residence.

The dorms offer single and twin rooms shared and can accommodate up to 1,600 students.

In the middle of the dwelling buildings is a beautiful fountain courtyard where residents can take a break in the fresh air.

Maintaining a nautical theme, the lodge floors are named after famous travelers and each level consists of a lounge with a unique interior.

The hostel life cannot do without cooking, which is why the dorms come with basic amenities such as a stove, refrigerator, water dispenser and a beautiful dining area perfect for socializing over a meal.

Students can easily do their laundry in the laundry room equipped with washers and dryers.

Parents can also rest assured that the safety of their children is taken care of at The Ship Campus. While both genders have their own dorm, they are also assigned to their watchers who take care of their needs.

The campus also has a 24 hour security patrol and all entrances can only be accessed with an entry card.

In short, Peninsula College offers a college lifestyle similar to studying abroad without breaking the bank.

At the same time, students learn to be independent during their stay on campus.
